 The Domaine des Varinelles, which has a
pastoral name bringing to mind the wagtail‚ trail is
an old property run by the Daheuiller family.
The vineyard today covers 42 hectares spread
between Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Chenin,
taking in several well-known areas such as
Les Petits
Clos, Les Bonneveaux,
Le Clos Marconnet and Les
Poyeux.
The age of the vines is quite high, being between
35-60 years on average.
Some were planted in 1900 !
