Saumur Champigny "Vieilles Vignes"
Cabernet Franc once again.
This wine is derived from a very old plot in the centre of the village of Varrains, planted by my great grandfather in 1900.
Special vinification process with a 30 days maceration at 30°C, daily remontage + ageing in barrels for two wines (french oak) lasting 12 to 14 months, no finning, slight filtration, and bottled.
This Saumur Champigny is representative of a new generation of more powerfull wines, longer on the palate, offering excellent properties for laying down while at the same at the same time retaining all the charm of a Cabernet from along the banks of the Loire.
Serve at room temperature 18-20 °C after laying down the wine for 4 to 8 years. |
